Sequenced Yoga Poses for a Balanced Practice - Part 1

Yoga is a holistic practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to promote overall well-being. In this series, we will explore a sequence of yoga poses that flow together smoothly, helping you build strength, flexibility, and inner peace.

Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

Mountain Pose

Begin by standing tall with your feet together, grounding down through all four corners of your feet. Engage your core, roll your shoulders back and down, and reach your arms alongside your body with palms facing forward.

Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)

Downward-Facing Dog

From Mountain Pose, exhale and fold forward, placing your hands on the mat shoulder-width apart. Step back with both feet, lifting your hips up and back, creating an inverted V shape with your body. Press firmly into the mat with your hands and heels.

Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I)

Warrior I

From Downward-Facing Dog, step your right foot forward between your hands. Rotate your back foot slightly out, grounding the outer edge. Inhale as you lift your torso up, reaching your arms overhead with palms facing each other. Square your hips forward.

Tree Pose (Vrikshasana)

Tree Pose

From Warrior I, shift your weight onto your right foot and bring the sole of your left foot to your inner right thigh or calf. Press your foot into your thigh and your thigh back into your foot. Find a focal point to help with balance and bring your hands to your heart center or extend them overhead.

Corpse Pose (Savasana)

Corpse Pose

After completing your poses, lie down on your back, arms by your sides with palms facing up. Close your eyes and relax your entire body, focusing on your breath. Stay in this pose for a few minutes to allow your body to absorb the benefits of your practice.

Practice these poses mindfully, focusing on your breath and body alignment. Stay tuned for Part 2 of our sequenced yoga poses series for a more comprehensive practice.
